Boycott Petro Canada – BS

Filed under: current events, environment, opinions — Ron Boyd @ 1:58 pm

Ok now I really have a bit of a bug up my a** on this one.. How many times over the past 5 years or so have you seen this or a similar email???

Hello Everyone,

This really sounds like it could make the difference.

Now this makes more sense that just not buying gas on one day…cuz what we don’t buy that day we will buy the day before or the day after…

This was originally sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. It’s worthy of our consideration.

Join the resistance! I hear we are going to hit close to $1.50 a litre by summer and it might possibly go higher! Want gasoline prices to come down? We need to take some intelligent, united action. Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea.

This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don’t buy gas on a certain day" campaign that was going around earlier! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn’t continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problemn for them.

… the msg continues to go on spouting wonderful figures etc. then ends similar to this …

Starting June 1 of 2007 DON’T purchase ANY gasoline from the biggest Company in Canada. Petro Canada ! If they are not selling any gas, they will be very quickly inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. Think about this.

Petro Canada has 1500 retail locations and the entire country consumes 68 million gallons a day. Yes per day. And Petro Canada is Canada’s largest gasoline retailer, the doesn’t it make sense that the consumer can bring this giant to its knees and force them to lower their prices.

Acting together we can make a difference. If this makes sense to you, Please pass this message on. I suggest that we not buy from Petro Canada

UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO A REASONABLE PRICE AND KEEP THEM DOWN.

Well most gas retailers purchase their gas from Petro Canada anyway so boycotting their retail outlets will only hurt the station owners not Petro Can.

A large part of PetroCan’s income comes not from their retail gas pumps but from export and other sources

If we stop buying gas from them what do you really think they’ll do??? Well they aren’t stupid, they’ll simply start meeting the HUGE demand of emerging countries like China! There is sooo much demand right now for petroleum that they really don’t care about local stuff.

It’s the demand for gas that has increased gas prices. Charge what the market will bear!

Oh and lets not forget that these emails were created in order to jam up company’s networks, any email that calls to send this to everyone you know or 10 friends etc. was created to try to jam up the Internet.

The key here is for us to try to reduce our dependence on gasoline and other petroleum based products. This is good for our pocket books AND good for the environment.

The only true way to reduce gas prices is to decrease demand for it. That won’t happen overnight.

For both gas prices, and the environment one of the best things that we as a country could do would be to heavily promote and encourage developing nations to steer away from petroleum dependence toward alternative energy sources!

Imagine if a country like China could be persuaded to create electricity from wind sources!!! The price of wind power generation would all of a sudden become a very viable alternative for the entire planet!

Just think if they were to move towards hybrid / electric or hydrogen vehicles from the start, bypassing the need for gas from the beginning! We’d all be better off! Gas would remain where it is or prices would drop. The middle east wouldn’t have such a powerful economy. We would also go a LONG way as a planet in the fight against Global Warming.

Think about it…

just my 2cents worth

What should we do about bogus 'green' technologies?

  1. People simply do not think far enough in to this. You must boycott Petro America (it is not Petro Canada, that is a false flag on the product) Once the Petro America stations close up from making 0 sales and nobody wanting to own the actual stations, we then boycott Shell, then Esso, and so on. Leave only the independents alive. This will drive prices down and increase competition. It is rather simple but we have too many people taught from the deaf an dumb system that literally can not think any more. It does not help that they put high doses of apathy drugs in to our water so that many Canadians/Americans are too apathetic to do ANYTHING. Read your history and you might just understand what is truly happening to North America as a whole. Banksters are stealing everything…

If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered. -Thomas Jefferson

  2. You do realize that the independents get their gas from Petro Can right?.. Your logic would work in US, but not in Canada..
