Toronto International Boat Show

Visit the Toronto International Boat Show Website!!Took the family to this years Boat Show at Exhibition Place, Toronto.

I’ve been to somewhere between 20 and 30 Boat Shows over the years and this 50th Anniversary show was as good as any. Though not as large as they used to be (they used to require the Automotive building as well) there was plenty to see and do.

The kids really had a great time at one booth where they were able to build little sail boats and race them in a pond! Donations went to help a program that gets inner-city kids out for a weekend to build wooden skiffs, great cause!

The ‘World’s largest indoor lake’ was really awesome! You could sign up to take a kayak for a spin on the lake or even a sail boat.

We wandered around checking out the myriad of displays. The kids really wanted to go check out one of the larger motor yachts only once they saw how long the line ups were they changed their minds and settled for checking out the smaller boats at the show.

We had a chance to visit many of the booths that had pontoon boats. We took special interest this year as my parents are purchasing one this year. Can’t wait!

We were mostly interested in looking at canoes, kayaks and smaller boats, something the kids can operate and we can easily tow around to go fishing with etc. There was quite a selection however we never did get to see it all.

Even with the downsized venue, there’s still way to much to see and do in a single day.
