Government youth project aimed at environmental awareness.
Growing up I spent a HUGE amount of my spare time in and around Georgian Bay Islands National Park as well as many Provincial Parks and Conservation Areas. Those experiences coupled with my journey in Scouting as a youth really helped shape who I am today.
The education, and life skills that are offered in the great out doors is an awesome gift for the youth of today!

Biofuels & other ‘Green’ Technologies
An article in today’s news feeds brought to mind a very important issue… Should we abandon so called ‘Green’ technologies that, in reality are doing more harm to the environment or should we continue to do more harm than good?
On one hand we have the idea engines going, everyone trying to do what’s right for the future, for the planet and our communities.
On the other hand we have the reality that many of these ideas are, in the long run not beneficial. (more…)

TD Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup
Wow, what an awesome day! Sara, Chris and I had a ton of fun.
About 40 of us, from 4th Georgetown (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, parents and leaders) all met up this morning at St. Andrews United in Georgetown and hiked down to Hungry Hollow to Clean up some of the Silver Creek that runs through the ravine as part of the TD Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup.
The Town of Halton Hills had mentioned that they had done a clean up back in April and they weren’t too sure if it would be worth it. We are glad we went ahead!

Now this makes more sense that just not buying gas on one day…cuz what we don’t buy that day we will buy the day before or the day after…
This was originally sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. It’s worthy of our consideration.
Join the resistance! I hear we are going to hit close to $1.50 a litre by summer and it might possibly go higher! Want gasoline prices to come down? We need to take some intelligent, united action. Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea.
