Heritage Camp

So this weekend was the Heritage Camp (hopefully the 1st annual of many). The camp was open to all 3rd year Cubs and all Scouts. We had 5 Cubs and 3 Leaders (myself included) scheduled to go. Unfortunately Sara and I both came down with a bout of stomach flu so neither her nor I [...]

Winter Cub Camp

Wow… What an awesome weekend! Over 20 Cubs plus us leaders converged on Ebor Park, part of Blue Springs Scout Reserve for the weekend. Raksha and I went out and did the shopping, gathered together most of the supplies and headed over to open up the camp and get the basics looked after. The two [...]

Georgetown Santa Clause Parade

What an awesome day! So this afternoon we all got together to decorate the float for the cubs, a few of the parents and leaders all made it out so it went fairly quickly. The Beavers put us to shame with an awesome display on their float this year. Everyone started to arrive around 4:30ish [...]

Remembrance Day Parade

We were really fortunate today to be blessed with great weather for the Remembrance Day Parade. We had a good turn out with over half of the Cubs coming out to walk with the Veterans, Scouts, Beavers, Cadets, and Guides. One of the new Cubs was our flag bearer and did a great job. The [...]

Scout / Guide Food Drive

On Saturday, Sara, Christopher and I as well as a good portion of our Cub Pack helped out at the 16th annual Georgetown Scout / Guide Food Drive to support the local Georgetown Bread Basket. We had a really good turn out this year with all the routes out by 11am! At the end of [...]

Apple Day

apple day
Woke earlier than normal for a Saturday, Sara, Chris and I headed out for Apple Day! We took two roots went out had some fun and raised some money for the 4th Georgetown Scout Group.

I really wasn’t sure what to expect, being that the last Apple Day I was a part of all we did was stand infront of a store, hand out apples and accost the local patrons for donations to support our group. The idea of going door to door was a bit different. I was very surprised by the response. It was very positive!…

Scouters’ club

So picked up Paul tonight at about 7:45 and off we went to Scouters’ club. What a disappointment, only 4 of us showed up.. including the two of us! I think part of the reason was due to short notice on the date / time / location this month. Got some great info though! Looks [...]
